AMLP to be featured in first Oxford Handbook of Public Musicology

We're thrilled to announce that the American Music Landmarks Project will be featured in the first Oxford Handbook of Public Musicology by Oxford University Press! The chapter, "Historic Preservation as Public Musicology: The American Music Landmarks Project," will be written by AMLP founder Sheryl Davis with the book anticipated for a 2026 release.

It is an honor to be included in this special opportunity of firsts and we would like to convey our sincere gratitude to the visionary Dr. Reba Wissner, the book's editor and fellow contributing author. Dr. Wissner is an associate professor at the Columbus State University Schwob School of Music and in 2022 established what is currently the nation's only public musicology program - an undergraduate certificate that will become available as an online option this fall. Congratulations!
